Introduction to Singapore Specialists Program 2020:
It gives me immense pleasure to connect with our valued trade fraternity from the Middle East and thank you all for the support extended to us in 2019 in achieving +7.4% increase in visitors from Middle East to Singapore.
The COVID-19 pandemic had a big impact on overseas travel and it will take a while for positive global travel sentiments to return. Singapore is now opening its borders gradually for international visitors from selected countries. In the meantime, we are focusing on two main areas:
a) Strengthening Singapore’s brand image around the world, by bringing Singapore experiences straight into the homes of our audiences. This will allow people from around the world to experience Singapore, even when they are not there, and help us remain top-of-mind among our future visitors when the time is right for them to return.
b) Ensuring that Singapore has the right measures in place to safely and gradually welcome visitors to Singapore.
Singapore is preparing for recovery in a calibrated manner and taking a very careful approach in the re-opening of its borders. However, we are confident that we will recover from this together and emerge stronger and more resilient.
We look forward to working with our travel trade partners in this region to ensure that the Middle East market remains one of the key contributors in driving quality visitors to Singapore.
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide digital tools to our travel trade partners, I am pleased to launch the ‘Singapore Specialists Program 2020’.
This program provides travel professionals from the Middle East an opportunity to digitally develop and improve their destination knowledge of Singapore. It will further help them to promote Singapore as a destination of choice for Leisure, Cruising and Business Travel. The program consists of key modules highlighting the destination features, offerings as a Muslim friendly destination and travel tips for travellers from the Middle East.
1. Destination Singapore
2. Accommodation and Food Guide to Singapore
3. Singapore Leisure offerings
4. Singapore MICE offering
5. Cruising out of Singapore
You will find nuggets of interesting information about Singapore (in the Do You Know? boxes), suggested experiences and sample itineraries throughout the modules. These features will keep you engaged and pique your interest to find out more and be able to plan a customized and interesting Singapore trip for your valued customers.
At the end of each module, a certificate will be awarded by TBO Middle East academy after you have completed the Quiz successfully. A Singapore Specialists Certificate (Gold) will be presented upon the completion of all the modules.
