Minsk
“God lives in Belarus” - Thats what my simple folk say. This truth is affirmed by the dew on the grass and by the eternal circle of stars. This truth is affirmed by the strength of (water) waves, and by the oath of our ancestors, and by the golden steel of our language, and by the universe of our thoughts.
The words of Uladzimir Karatkevich (The classic Belarusian writer) best define the immense beauty of Belarus, a land which is the symbiotic fusion of ‘Narod’ (Nation) and ‘Priroda’ (Nature). Minsk, the capital of Belarus, is the centre of the land under the white wings. Contrary to its dreary reputation, Minsk is a progressive, modern and sparkling city. Artistic cafes, brilliant restaurants and packed nightclubs beckon for your attention, at the same time sushi bars and art galleries have sprung up across the city, which have been created to the tastes of Stalin. Minsk, is a Phoenix, rising from the ashes – only 3 buildings in Minsk remained undestroyed after the World War II. However, today it is a modern, rapidly growing city, which impresses visitors with its cleanliness and tidiness.
