Opening the Conversation Right
Most agents start sales conversations with destination facts. The best agents start with a question that surfaces client emotion. The shift from 'Let me tell you about Andaman' to 'Tell me what kind of trip you're looking for' is the difference between presenting and consulting.
Consulting mode creates trust. Trust creates permission to recommend, upsell, and influence decision-making. Aim to spend the first two minutes of the call listening, not talking.
The Three-Beat Pitch Structure
Once you've listened and segmented the client, your pitch should follow this structure:

Scenario: Budget Client vs Premium Client
• Budget Client Scenario
Client says: 'We have around ?60,000 for two people, 6 nights, everything included.' Strategy: Don't go below ?55K as it compromises property quality and experience. Instead, justify mid-market spend by anchoring on experience value: 'For ?10,000 more, I can get you a proper beach-facing room in Havelock instead of a basic property in Port Blair. That view when you wake up is worth every rupee — and you only do this honeymoon once.'
• Premium Client Scenario
Client has travelled to Bali and Phuket and wants something 'different.' Strategy: Position exclusivity — limited island permits, restricted access zones, boutique property inventory. 'Most people who visit Andaman see the same three beaches. I can build you an itinerary that includes experiences most visitors don't even know are possible. Then introduce private boat charter, liveaboard diving, Barren Island, bioluminescent bay evening.
