History of the Dubai Food Festival
 

Introduced in 2014, The Dubai Food Festival is debatably the most substantial Middle Eastern food celebration. This luxurious indulgence has been growing in quantity, crowd, and quality ever since. Controlled by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), The Dubai Food Festival is a tactical part of the city's year-round programme of festivals held to endorse tourism and expansion in the retail sector of Dubai.

Dubai Restaurant Week allowed foodies to enjoy solely curated two- and three-course set menus. Visit some of the most sought-after restaurants in the city for dinner to remember, or enjoy the lunch option, a new element this past year introduced due to well-received demand. The idea truly showcased the city's artistic food sense, allowing diners a gastronomic trip worldwide through various restaurants on bid. 

MASTERCLASSES, WORKSHOPS AND FEASTS

The second edition of Foodie Experiences continued to cook up a storm, giving everyone a unique insight into the city's culinary vitality. Fanatics enjoyed curated experiences, including masterclasses with top chefs, themed realistic tours, culinary workshops, exclusive tasting menus from the brightest restaurants in Dubai and so much more.

TASTY TREATS BY THE BEACH

The Etisalat Beach Canteen transformed Jumeriah beach, behind the mall into an appetizing hotspot throughout Dubai Food Festival, showcasing a wealth of domestic concepts from across the UAE. Visitors to this pop-up beachside carnival sampled dishes worldwide – from street food to quirky desserts. There were also plenty of live culinary demos and onsite entertainment, making the canteen an uncontested family favourite.

The reappearance of the citywide Dine & Win programme gave foodies the chance to win big. Diners could take part at up to 1,500 eateries located around the city – all they had to do was expend a minimum of AED50 on tasty delights to get their hands on a scratch-and-win card and a raffle coupon. The scratch card came with alluring deals to numerous outlets or a Zomato Gold membership.

• Awards and competitions: The festival hosts various competitions related to food to bring out talented chefs, restaurants, and food entrepreneurs.

• Ariana’s Persian Kitchen: Known for its middle eastern cuisine, Ariana’s Kitchen served 2-course breakfasts and 3-course dinners of Persian dishes induced with fruits, nuts, and floral fragrances to its customers. 
• Jaleo: Jaleo by Jose Andres served European cuisine at Atlantis by Royal. Visitors came for affordable yet delicious Spanish foods with tapas, Spanish cheese, and creamy desserts.
• Attiko: Mina Seyahi served a new sunset culinary experience to its customers which included a three-course meal with a signature mixed drink.
• YOY: A Ukrainian restaurant with a exquisite dishes like cottage cheese pancakes, red Varenyky, and Canapes was served by this restaurant.

Apart from the restaurants mentioned above, there are more than 50 restaurants participating in the event.
