Wizz Air has been ranked the most emissions-efficient major airline globally in Cirium’s 2024 Flight Emissions Review, averaging just 53.9g CO₂ per available seat kilometre. The Hungary-based low-cost carrier topped Frontier, Pegasus, Volaris, and IndiGo. Cirium analyzed the top 100 airlines using its EmeraldSky platform, now PwC-assured and RMI-accredited. Ryanair led among the 10 largest airlines. The global average stood at 74.8g CO₂ per ASK, highlighting Wizz’s industry-leading performance.
