Western Railway has expanded Mumbai’s suburban network by introducing four new 12-car local train services from February 1, 2026. The additional trains operate between Bhayandar, Bandra, and Churchgate to reduce overcrowding during peak hours. Railway officials say the expansion follows completion of new rail lines and aims to improve connectivity, commuter comfort, and overall travel efficiency across the Western Railway corridor.
