Venice relaunches its tourist tax with doubled fees and stricter regulations to combat overtourism and protect cultural heritage. Effective from April 18 to July, tourists who don’t book at least four days in advance will pay €10, up from €5. The tax applies during peak times, from Friday to Sunday and public holidays. Fines for non-compliance range from €50 to €300, with exemptions for overnight visitors.
