The United States has made its visa bond program permanent for selected B-1/B-2 visa applicants from 50 designated countries. Effective August 3, 2026, eligible travellers may be required to pay a refundable bond ranging from US$10,000 to US$20,000 to help ensure compliance with visa conditions. The measure aims to reduce visa overstays while strengthening immigration and border management procedures.
