Uttar Pradesh and Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture have signed an MoU to strengthen cooperation in Buddhist, spiritual and wellness tourism. The agreement covers joint promotion, tourism routes, industry networking, knowledge exchange and improved tourist movement. The partnership builds on rising visitor numbers to Buddhist destinations in Uttar Pradesh between 2022 and 2025. Cooperation with Yamanashi is expected to support destination promotion and broaden international tourism opportunities while encouraging stronger cultural and spiritual travel connections between India and Japan.
