The Government of India has sanctioned ₹467.89 crore for tourism development in Assam under multiple central schemes, including Swadesh Darshan, PRASHAD and SASCI. The funding will support infrastructure upgrades, destination development and global promotion of key attractions such as Kaziranga National Park and Majuli Island. The initiative aims to enhance visitor experience, improve connectivity and position Assam as a leading tourism destination in India.
