Taiwan will launch the Shanlan Mountain Mist tourism train on a new Tainan–Changhua route starting April 3, 2026. Operated by Taiwan Railways in partnership with Lion Travel, the scenic service is designed for slow, immersive travel through rural landscapes. Officials say the route will boost regional tourism, support smaller towns, and strengthen rail-based travel experiences beyond major cities.
