Sri Lanka Railways has enhanced connectivity across its hill country with the launch of two dedicated school train services and the reopening of the Ella Odyssey tourist train. The school trains operate on the Nawalapitiya–Hatton and Kandy–Wattegama routes, easing daily commutes for students and reducing road congestion. Meanwhile, the Ella Odyssey resumes scenic journeys through tea plantations, waterfalls, and landmarks like the Nine Arches Bridge, strengthening sustainable rail tourism and improving access to Sri Lanka’s most picturesque regions.
