Sri Lanka has launched a fast-track driving permit system at Colombo Airport, allowing tourists and eligible nationals to get 30-day licenses instantly on arrival. The initiative replaces the old bureaucratic process, giving travelers more freedom to explore the island by car. While tuk-tuks and heavy vehicles are excluded, this move is expected to boost road-based tourism, support rural economies, and offer visitors a more flexible and immersive travel experience.
