Southern Railway in India has introduced special one-way express trains to manage heavy passenger traffic during the Pongal festival. The additional services aim to reduce overcrowding on regular routes and improve travel comfort across Tamil Nadu. Railway authorities have also deployed extra security staff, opened additional ticket counters, and activated a 24/7 control room to ensure smooth operations and passenger safety during the festive travel period.
