Sikkim is set to receive its first railway connectivity as the 44.5-km Sivok-Rangpo project advances toward completion by December 2027. The line has reached around 75% progress and will connect Rangpo with the national railway network. Railways is also prioritising a proposed 34-km Rangpo-Gangtok link, estimated to cost ₹9,000 crore.
