Sikkim has introduced a fully digital permit system for foreign nationals visiting protected and restricted areas, replacing the earlier paper-based process. Foreign tourists must now apply through the e-FRRO platform, with approvals typically processed within 24 to 48 hours. The move aims to enhance border security, improve transparency, and offer a faster, more efficient travel experience across sensitive regions.
