China Eastern Airlines will launch the world’s longest flight this December, linking Shanghai, Auckland, and Buenos Aires with a twice-weekly service. Passengers will stay onboard during the Auckland stop. Coinciding with the route, New Zealand will waive transit visa requirements for Chinese travelers from November 2025. This historic flight connects China and South America directly, boosts tourism, enhances Auckland’s transit role, and reshapes regional travel dynamics between Asia and Latin America.
