South Batinah Governorate has emerged as a key tourism hub in Oman, registering 249 licensed establishments by July 2025, according to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The facilities include hotels, guesthouses, green lodges, and heritage stays, with Barka hosting most of them. Supported by 198 travel offices, the region offers heritage, adventure, and marine tourism. This rapid growth highlights South Batinah’s rising role in Oman’s sustainable tourism development and economic expansion.
