India’s first high-speed bullet train on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor is scheduled to begin operations by August 15, 2027. Powered by Japanese Shinkansen technology, the 508-kilometre route will reduce travel time from seven to eight hours to just two. The phased rollout will connect key cities including Thane, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, improving access to business hubs and tourist destinations while reshaping rail tourism across western India.
