Mozambique has secured €145 million from AFD and the EU to expand and modernize the Maputo–Ressano Garcia rail link. This project includes doubling tracks and upgrading signals to boost capacity, safety, and efficiency. Set to enhance tourism and cross-border travel with South Africa, the project supports eco-friendly transport goals. It promises shorter travel times, improved commuter experience, and increased tourist access to Mozambique’s vibrant cities and scenic coasts.
