Bibb County Commissioners have approved $325,570 for the Middle Georgia Regional Airport to acquire nearly eight acres for new aircraft hangars. These hangars will accommodate corporate and smaller aircraft, contributing to Macon’s tax base through ad valorem taxes. The expansion is part of ongoing growth that includes a runway project and a new terminal. The airport has also recently added flights to Fort Lauderdale and resumed services to Baltimore.
