Mexico is investing $594 million in the new Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo passenger rail line, enhancing travel between northern Mexico and the U.S. border. Expected to open by 2028, the 393.9 km route will deliver faster, eco-friendly connectivity and boost tourism and trade. Integrated with the CPKC freight corridor, this project marks a major step toward modernizing Mexico’s rail system and promoting sustainable, cross-border economic growth.
