The Kangra Valley rail service, connecting Pathankot and Jogindernagar, has resumed after a four-year suspension. Flood damage to the Chakki Railway Bridge in August 2023 necessitated a ₹70 crore reconstruction. The restored service offers significantly cheaper travel compared to buses. Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur inaugurated the service, highlighting its importance and mentioning potential broad-gauge conversion for the narrow-gauge line.
