Japan has officially extended its visa-free entry programme for holders of ordinary Thai passports until June 30, 2027, allowing eligible travellers to stay for up to 15 days without a visa. The extension is expected to strengthen tourism ties, encourage more spontaneous travel and support rising visitor demand. Thailand continues to be Japan’s largest tourism source market in Southeast Asia, with arrivals steadily increasing throughout 2026.
