Kirkwall and Inverness Airports have completed the installation of energy-efficient Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) systems, marking a £9 million investment. These systems, featuring LED technology, enhance pilot safety while reducing energy consumption by up to 80%. The upgrades ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Authority standards, minimize environmental impact, and support the airports’ sustainability goals.
