Indian Railways is upgrading its reservation system with a cloud-enabled PRS designed to handle over 1.5 lakh bookings per minute, compared with around 32,000 currently. The phased migration aims to reduce slowdowns during Tatkal rushes and improve reliability. A new IRCTC beta website also offers a simpler interface and fewer booking steps. The upgrade is expected to improve the ticketing experience as passenger demand continues growing.
