India has strengthened its regional aviation ambitions by allocating ₹28,840 crore to the revamped UDAN scheme over the next decade. The initiative aims to develop 100 airports, build 200 helipads, and improve air connectivity to underserved regions through operational support and viability gap funding. The programme also encourages the use of indigenous aircraft to expand affordable regional air travel.
