Bengaluru-based Sarla Aviation has begun ground testing its half-scale SYL-X1 eVTOL demonstrator, advancing India’s ambitions for domestically developed air taxis. The aircraft is designed as a step toward a full-scale electric vertical take-off and landing platform. The project supports India’s growing advanced-air-mobility ecosystem, strengthens domestic aerospace capabilities and could eventually introduce new urban travel options with electric propulsion and reduced operating complexity.
