India’s new South Coast Railway Zone officially begins operations from June 1, with Visakhapatnam serving as its headquarters. The new zone is expected to strengthen rail connectivity across Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states, improve passenger services, support faster freight movement, and enhance tourism by making regional rail travel more efficient and convenient.
