India has identified over 110 elephant-sensitive railway stretches to reduce train collisions and strengthen wildlife conservation. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Indian Railways, includes speed restrictions, wildlife crossings and AI-based detection systems. Covering more than 3,400 km of tracks, the plan aims to protect elephant corridors while ensuring safe and efficient railway operations.
