India’s spiritual and wellness tourism is emerging as a major hospitality opportunity, with industry leaders calling for destination-specific hotels, authentic local cuisine, immersive experiences and technology-enabled visitor management. At the FHRAI convention in Varanasi, experts highlighted the need to turn short pilgrimage visits into longer stays by combining spirituality with heritage, nature, wellness and storytelling. The mid-market segment across Tier-II and Tier-III cities was also identified as a key growth area.
