India’s first high-speed rail corridor, the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail, is progressing toward its planned August 2027 launch. Spanning 508 km, the route will connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad in under two hours using advanced Japanese Shinkansen technology, with trains capable of speeds up to 350 kmph. The project is expected to boost regional connectivity, tourism, job creation, and domestic manufacturing while incorporating advanced safety systems and disaster-monitoring technology.
