India aims to manufacture its own civilian aircraft within two years, according to Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. The country currently has 860 aircraft in service and 1,640 on order. Under the extended UDAN scheme, ₹28,840 crore has been approved to develop 100 additional airports. These plans could strengthen India’s aviation ecosystem, expand connectivity and support tourism across emerging destinations.
