The Union Cabinet has approved four major railway projects worth ₹12,328 crore to enhance connectivity, tourism, and economic growth across Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, Assam, and Bihar. Key initiatives include a new Kutch line to boost Gujarat tourism, the Secunderabad–Wadi expansion, Bhagalpur–Jamalpur third line, and Furkating–New Tinsukia doubling. Together, these projects promise faster travel, reduced congestion, job creation, greener freight transport, and stronger regional development under India’s PM Gati Shakti vision.
