A £18.3 million investment will bring a new railway station to Barrhead by autumn 2026, improving rail access to Glasgow and nearby green spaces. Balgray Station will include two platforms, EV charging points, bus connections, and direct links to local housing and nature trails. As part of the Glasgow City Region Deal, the station aims to reduce congestion, promote public transport, and fuel economic and sustainable development in East Renfrewshire.
