Malaysia’s tourism sector delivered a standout performance in 2024, contributing 15.1% to GDP and generating RM291.9 billion in revenue. Growth was fueled by inbound arrivals, domestic travel, retail trade, and food services, showcasing tourism’s vital role in national recovery. Inbound spending rose 41%, led by shopping and accommodation, while domestic expenditure climbed 25%. With tourism supporting over 3.5 million jobs, Malaysia is firmly positioning itself as a top global travel destination.
