Sri Lanka welcomed 198,235 international tourists in August 2025, a 20.4% rise from last year, signaling strong recovery momentum. India led arrivals with 46,473 visitors, followed by the UK, Germany, and Italy. With 1.56 million tourists recorded in the first eight months of 2025, the island is strengthening its position as South Asia’s premier destination, blending culture, wellness, and adventure while fueling economic growth and community benefits.
