Since its 2018 launch, daily ridership has averaged 39,000 during Ramadan, reflecting strong demand. Connecting Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and key hubs, the railway serves Umrah and Hajj pilgrims year-round. To accommodate peak Ramadan travel, SAR expanded services to 130 daily trips and enhanced facilities. Running at speeds of up to 300 km/h, Haramain is among the world’s fastest trains.
