The Centre is drafting guidelines to develop India’s top 50 tourist destinations in collaboration with states, with the first set to be identified by year-end. This initiative, announced in the Union Budget, aims to boost employment-led growth through improved infrastructure, skill development, and connectivity. Backed by a ₹2,541 crore tourism budget, it focuses on sustainability, managing overcrowding, and promoting inclusive, safe, and skill-driven travel experiences across India.
