Brazil has recorded a 46% rise in international tourist arrivals between 2019 and 2025, ranking fourth among economies analysed by the OECD. Foreign visitors increased from 6.3 million to 9.3 million, outperforming major tourism markets including Japan, Portugal, Spain and France. The momentum continued in 2026, with 5.26 million international arrivals in the first half and tourism spending reaching US$5.6 billion, up 12% year-on-year
