Antara Cruises is making a landmark ₹800 crore investment in West Bengal to elevate luxury river tourism, shipbuilding, and employment opportunities. Following an initial ₹200 crore investment, the company plans to construct advanced cruise vessels in Kolkata’s shipyards, strengthening the state’s maritime infrastructure. Sealing an MoU at BGBS 2025, this initiative will generate thousands of jobs, with a strong focus on hiring local talent. The West Bengal Transport Department will provide access to jetties and explore leasing additional ones to support seamless cruise operations.
