Anantnag district has launched a focused initiative to preserve three ancient fossil sites in Aishmuqam, Pahalgam, and Khoveripora to support geo tourism growth. Led by the district administration, the plan includes site demarcation, protective measures, and community involvement. The preserved sites are expected to attract researchers, students, and niche travellers while creating sustainable tourism opportunities and strengthening Anantnag’s position as a geological heritage destination.
