Alaska Airlines has officially retired its first Boeing 737-900, marking the end of a significant era in aviation. Delivered in 2003, the aircraft served for 22 years, accumulating over 67,000 flight hours. Known for its unique straight-wing design and “eyebrow” windows, it played a key role in the development of the 737-900 series. Its final flight landed at Pinal Airpark, Arizona, on April 8, 2025. Alaska Airlines plans to retire all 737-900s by year-end to modernize its fleet.
