Saudi Arabia’s Haramain High-Speed Railway set a record on the 15th of Ramadan, transporting 48,000 passengers in a single day. Since its 2018 launch, daily ridership has averaged 39,000 during Ramadan, reflecting strong demand. Connecting Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and key hubs, the railway serves Umrah and Hajj pilgrims year-round. To accommodate peak Ramadan travel, SAR expanded services to 130 daily trips and enhanced facilities. Running at speeds of up to 300 km/h, Haramain is among the world’s fastest trains.
