The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, Asia’s largest, has opened for the season in Kashmir, signaling the start of a new tourism wave. Nestled between Dal Lake and the Zabarwan Hills, the garden now boasts 74 varieties of tulips and other spring flowers, with 17 lakh tulip bulbs planted over 55 hectares. Initially launched in 2007 with 50,000 bulbs from the Netherlands, the garden has grown in popularity, attracting over 4.65 lakh visitors last year, enhancing Kashmir’s spring tourism appeal.
