Assam welcomed nearly 2.44 crore tourists, including over 60,000 foreigners, in the past four years, with Kamakhya Temple alone attracting over 41 lakh visitors. Assam Tourism Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass highlighted government initiatives to boost tourism. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Assam is among India’s five fastest-growing states, with growth rates of 14-15%, surpassing the national average. Capital expenditures rose to INR 24,964 crore in 2024-25, and Assam maintains a 25% debt-to-GDP ratio, with 17 profitable PSUs contributing to economic strength.
