The global hotel construction pipeline reached an all-time high of 15,820 projects and 2.43 million rooms in Q4 2024, a 4% YOY increase, according to Lodging Econometrics. The U.S. leads with 6,378 projects, followed by China (3,779), India (693), Canada (333), and Saudi Arabia (316). India saw a 35% surge in projects and 43% in rooms. In 2024, 2,226 new hotels opened, with projections of 2,815 openings in 2025 and 2,820 in 2026.
