Indian Railways has commissioned a new double-line rail bridge over the Ganga at Mokama, Bihar, built at a cost of around ₹2,400 crore. Running parallel to the existing Rajendra Pul, the bridge adds two railway lines and increases capacity between North and South Bihar. The project is expected to strengthen connections towards northeastern India, improve passenger and freight movement, and increase rail traffic capacity on the corridor by around 2.5 times.
