Karnataka has proposed a 270-km Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) network connecting Bengaluru with Tumakuru, Mysuru and Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). The proposal was discussed as part of a 10–15-year development plan for the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region. The state is also considering expanding Metro connectivity, suburban rail and ring roads to improve regional mobility and ease traffic congestion.
