Airports Council International (ACI) World is urging governments to prioritise airport capacity in national infrastructure and economic plans. The organisation estimates that the aviation industry will need USD 4.6 trillion in investment by 2055 to accommodate expected growth. ACI World also recommends modernising airport slot allocation and market access policies, strengthening regulations and improving coordination between airports, airlines and air navigation service providers to maximise existing infrastructure and support regional economic development.
